Establishment
PT. "K" Line (Indonesia) was established on August 1, 1996 as an overseas agent of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd., Japan. Initially focused on container shipping services, the company laid the foundation for long-term development within Indonesia’s logistics sector.
Service Expansion
The company expanded its operations to include PCC/RORO shipping services, handling the transportation of Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicles, heavy machinery, and bulk cargo such as coal, iron ore, grain, and raw materials.
Growth and Transformation
During this period, PT. "K" Line (Indonesia) underwent major operational improvements, including automation of internal systems, enhancement of cargo handling efficiency, and expansion of its logistics infrastructure.
Several affiliated companies were established to provide integrated logistics services, forming a strong ecosystem to deliver “One Stop Service” solutions for customers across various industries.
Logistics Network Expansion
The company expanded its presence through strategic subsidiaries:
- PT. KLINE Total Logistics Indonesia (KTLI)
- PT. K Line Mobaru Diamond Indonesia (KMDI)
- PT. Karawang Taro Logistics Center Indonesia (KTARO)
These entities support integrated logistics operations including warehousing, distribution, and inland transportation.
Ocean Network Express (ONE)
In April 2018, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, MOL, and NYK integrated their container shipping businesses into Ocean Network Express (ONE), forming one of the world’s leading global shipping alliances.
Following this integration, PT. "K" Line (Indonesia) shifted its strategic focus toward specialized business sectors, including car carrier operations, dry and liquid bulk shipping, and logistics services through its subsidiaries.
